MERTHYR CYCLING CLUB

Newsletter

ISSUE 4 December 14th 2012

Hi members,
Thanks to all who supported our Annual presentation evening, it was a very successful and entertaining evening with our guest of honour, Jon Chic, giving us a detailed account of his charity cycle ride to “Istanbul” after a short Q.A. session the prize-winners were honoured and presented with their trophies. The Re-ferbishment of the Cefn Rugby Club certainly impressed all the attendees and it is indeed a very comfortable and modern venue.
This time of year tends to be a relatively quiet time for cycling except for those hardy athletes who maintain a high standard of fitness throughout the year. However we usually celebrate the “Yuletide” season with some short Christmas runs and social events.
“The Holly run”
On Sunday 16th of December, meet at the Cefn Community Centre car park 10:00 am the exact run will be decided on the day depending on the weather conditions. Return to the Cefn Rugby Club approx. 12:30.
“The Snort & Tart run”
On Thursday 27th of December, meet at Cefn Community Centre car park 10:30 am then proceed to “Storey Arms” for “Snorts & Tarts” returning to a suitable venue for refreshment.
Club subs are due so please send them to Adrian McDonald before the end of January to maintain your unbroken membership, remember 21 years of unbroken membership qualifies for “Life” membership.
